The use of plastic consumables is unavoidable in scientific laboratories. From Pipette tips and Petri dishes to disposable gloves, it is an indispensable part of the daily workflow. However, increasing awareness of environmental issues and sustainability presents us with the challenge of minimising our plastic consumption and finding more sustainable alternatives.
We are setting new standards with our innovative recycling concept and this commitment is reflected in some impressive results. We focussed on sustainability right from developing concept and design of our box systems, reducing the use of plastic materials in our pipette tip production by as much as 64%. This is a significant step towards protecting the environment and conserving resources. For Example, refilling the SingleRefills (200 μl) saves 35.8% CO2 compared to the box.
